Swiftly Hotah:tahatan raced through the forest. He had important information to share with his tribe. So important he'd left his trading work, and not even bothered picking up his oxen. He'd promised a settler he would return his horse to him when he himself returned to the city. It was a fast horse, a swift and smart horse. And right now they were racing through the forests. His breath came in short pants as he glanced over his shoulder as if fearing pursuit, or whatever he'd heard chasing after him. Or...maybe whom. Either way he'd been spooked by something, and he was focused solely on getting back to the safety of his village. To warn them.
Yes that was his reason for speed. And the reason he only just managed to jerk his borrowed horses head to the right before they went over a cliff. Tree branches whipped against his skin as the forest grew denser. In reality they were going down a narrow deer track. Suddenly they came across a wider track as the horse leapt off a low rocky ledge down onto the path. He heard the sound of twin horses galloping towards them, turning his head in the direction of the sound. Meanwhile beneath him his mount snorted head lowered gasping for air. Its sides were lathered with sweat, and the beast was near on exhausted.
