Hunting Mechanism INITIATING A HUNT
To start hunting you first need to find something to hunt, this I'm afraid is a case of waiting till an event happens that includes an animal popping up.
HUNTING THE ANIMAL Once an animal has appeared you must resolve the combat, this can be done in one post or over multiple. Once you've completed the hunt let a member of staff know (by completion this means you've posted that you've gone to kill the animal, if a staff member deems your hunt is successful you will be gifted the appropriate animal pelt, if not a message will be sent stating that you missed and the animal has escaped)
A PREDATOR I CAN'T FACE HAS APPEARED If this happens you can elect to run. If while you're fleeing a prey animal appears you can elect to hide. Please note if its something like a pack of wolves or a bear the animal must be the elk, if its a bobcat it can be hare up, if its a cougar it can be fox up (in this case fox is counted as a prey animal). Please PM a member of staff who will then let you know if you've successfully hidden.
HUNTING AS A GROUP So you want to hunt as a group? Cool! Hunting as a group allows you to take down more animals, or take down larger animals, the same rules follow however note that only one person can get a pelt. Without you've elected a person at the start of the thread (it can be an IC discussion before you head out deciding who gets the pelt), whoever sent the killing shot if you elect to only hunt down one animal such as a bear will be taken as the default pelt reciever.
NATIVE AMERICAN TRADITIONS It is traditional to say some prayer of thanks following a kill, as well as to only kill for what you need, wasting nothing. Please note this as killing rashly, or without giving thanks will be noted and may cause an increased risk of your hunt being unsuccessful.

Hunting Bonuses You can gain a higher chance of hunting a particular animal by having found three clues as to its presence. Each animal you can hunt has three seperate clues, these are its tracks, its poo (or scat) and something that it does as part of its life. Each clue you find will show up on your profile as a trophy. Have all three and you have a 90% chance of killing the animal. If you have one of three you have an immediate 30%, two of three it goes to 60%.
As they say, you have to know your prey.
